Healing as Energy
Every human is a ball of energy. This energy is not just the physical kind we
use to get through each day. It’s more than that. Apart from having our
own energy, we are also giving out and receiving different energy all the
time. Some energies are helpful and encouraging: others can make us unwell.
Reiki (pronounced ray –key) is a Japanese word meaning “universal life energy”.
Reiki is healing energy in its truest sense. When the Reiki practitioner channels this life energy through their hands to the recipient, it activates the body’s natural ability to heal itself. The energy goes to the deepest levels of a person’s being, where illnesses have their origin. It works wherever the recipient needs it most, releasing blocked energies, cleansing the body of toxins and working to create a state of balance. It reinforces the recipients ability to take responsibility for their life, and helps them to make the necessary changes in attitude and lifestyle to promote a happier and healthier life.
The Aura
Man has a subtle energy field that coexist with the physical body, often referred to as the aura, which permeates the physical body and extends outwards, surrounding the body. Energy within the aura is given different names in different cultures. E.g CHI in China and Prana in Japan and Ki in Japan. In the West, its known as Life force. It is Universal energy that sustains all living things. Just as the physical body has an anatomical structure, so does the Aura. The size of the aura depends on the level of development of the individual; a large aura indicates a higher level of development.
